They do not use pre-recorded backings or midifiles, they actually play their instruments. Quite rare these days! Having started the Year 2002 with Appearances @ the Jazz Cafe, Queen Elizabeth 2003 playing tracks from his debut CD TURBULENT TIMES, keeping the AFROBEAT torch burning! The eclectic cosmopolitan utilizes not only his first hand experience with Afrobeat’s Yoruba fundamentals; he also has lots of strong influences from funk, jazz and Latin grooves. He is equally sought after as writer, producer, record compilation curator (the fantastic ‘Essential Afrobeat’ 3CD mix), session heavy and – last but not least – heir of the live music throne!
