The 1959 hit “Apache” became our trademark and complete with the famous “Shadows Walk”
If asked about our musical influences each member will have their own individual artistes to quote but ultimately the biggest influence on the group was the 1979 movie The Buddy Holly Story.
Of course it wasn’t just because we were dressed in such flamboyant style that attracted the crowds but the mix of music and the way in which we were playing were other factors, at the time we were the only true rock and roll band in Kent, these days thanks to the nostalgia revival there are many dozens of similar bands working the circuit, but we were amongst the first specialist tribute bands.

From being stopped in public for pictures to being mobbed at U2 concerts, UV is the closest thing to the real thing in the U2 tribute scene. G'Vox (UV Front man 'Bono:) was even brought onstage by Bono in December of 2005 during U2's show in Detroit. To quote Bono 'really, there's nothing to say...except, Thank You!'. G'vox says:'U2 has been my favorite band since 1981. There are no shortcuts or tricks , we either play the music right or not at all. Anything less would be an insult to the number one band in the world.' Needless to say, UV are certified Super Fans and it shows in the emotion and energy they put into every UV performance.
