Northern Flute Quartet
Professional Flute Quartet based in Manchester, available for weddings, functions and corporate events. The quartet can offer background music playing a wide range of music from the classical to light. They can also arrange specific pieces if required.
The Northern Flute Quartet formed at the Royal Northern College of Music in 2003 whilst its founding members were studying for their postgraduate diplomas in performance. Since then the group has gone from strength to strength both as performers and educators, promoting the flute and flute quartet repertoire. The quartet perform regularly to audiences around the North West with repertoire ranging from newly written works to more standard chamber repertoire combining subtle musicianship with technical excellence. They played at the British Flute Convention in August 2006 and regularly play at the Chorlton Arts Festival.

Rivoli String Quartet
Young professional string quartet, based in Manchester, available for concerts, weddings and other functions.
The Rivoli Quartet studied at Manchester University with the Lindsay String Quartet, and have recently graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music, where they were prize-winners in two chamber music competitions.
They regularly give concerts throughout the UK and abroad, and have recently returned from giving a series of concerts on board the Saga Rose cruise ship between Australia and South Africa.
The Rivoli’s concert repertoire ranges from the classical masterpieces of Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven, through Mendelssohn, Dvorak and Debussy, to Shostakovich and Bartok.

Ruth Gardner
Ruth Gardner studied Music at Clare College, Cambridge where she was awarded a scholarship. Then Ruth studied Piano Accompaniment for two years at the RNCM. During this time she won the Clifton Helliwell Prize for Piano, the Stella Bradshaw Award for Accompaniment and the Allcard Award 2000 from the Worshipful Company of Musicians. Ruth graduated with the colleges top performance Diploma PPRNCM (Distinction).
As a freelance pianist/accompanist Ruth is currently employed at the RNCM. Ruth has also worked for NYO, BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, European Opera Centre. she recently did a North-African cruise with Swan Hellenic.
As a piano teacher Ruth runs the SEMPLICE School of Private Piano Studies. Based in the Longsight area she teaches any age and any ability from beginner to Diploma standard.
She is also an experienced wedding pianist

Phoenix Brass Quintet
Phoenix Brass were formed in 2003 and is made up of some of the country’s finest young brass players studying at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. The quintet have a great deal of experience as a chamber ensemble having performed regularly across the North West at a variety of concert venues giving recitals and concerts. The quintet were recently invited to perform for the prime minister and deputy prime minister at the labour party conference this year. Phoenix Brass have worked with the Onyx brass quintet and will be taking part on in a masterclass in November 2005 with Canadian Brass at the RNCM. The repertoire covers everything from baroque, jazz, light classics to new music from brass quintet.
Trumpeter Joel Cooper has recently been studying at the Lyon Conservatoire and is a former member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain.

Phoenix Brass quintet
The Phoenix Brass Quintet have been playing together for 3 years and is made up of 1 2nd yr, 3 3rd yrs and 1 4th yr at the RNCM. The quintet perform regularly at venues across the North of England and are also available for weddings and other functions. Recently they performed at the Labour Party Conference in Manchester and competed in the philip Jones competition. In the near future they will be competing in an International Quintet competition in Paris and are hoping to do a tour of the South of France in Summer 2006.

Da Capo Duo
The Da Capo Duo is a flute and classical guitar duo. We formed at the Royal Northern College of Music, and have since been performing regularly throughout the Greater Manchester area. We play a variety of music from folk and traditional music (for example flamenco) to more serious classical music, from Bach to Piazzolla. We are in high demand throughout the North-West as both recital and background musicians, and also have experience of working in community venues such as schools, retirement homes and hospitals.
As individual players, we both teach and perform as soloists and in other ensembles.
