Cheryl Agnew-Bass - professional violinist
Cheryl is an experienced freelance musician having worked as a violinist in UK, and abroad. She studied violin at the City of Belfast School of Music with Alexandra Mackenzie. Cheryl won the Stephen Parker award and also the ABRSM prestigious Gold award in her grade 8 violin. Cheryl studied with Yossi Zivoni at the Royal Northern College of Music and, after sucessfully completing a 4 year degree course, she began playing fulltime with the Natal Philharmonic Orchestra in Durban, South Africa. Since 1995 she has been freelancing in and around the south of england. As a chamber musician, Cheryl is founder member of Ariella Strings (formerly Midsummer Strings) who have been playing together since 1999. As well as giving formal chamber music recitals, they are involved in outreach work, regularly giving workshops and working within the community and in schools and colleges.
